new painting Double Dots

Here's a new double faced Splinterface painting. I found a nice polka dot pattern on paper and collaged it on. It looks kind of like the Wonder Bread polka dots.

Two Caricatures

Hi. Here's two painted caricatures I made as wooden cut-out paintings. I was asked to make Splinterface type paintings of these two brothers and this is what I came up with. Normally I start with a rectangular shape and add the cartoon face. But for these I drew the caricature type faces and then just cut that shape out of the wood. I thought it would look more like the boys rather than trying to stretch their faces to fit a rectangle. I still did some squashing of the head shapes to make them more rounded like cartoon characters.
